I must be doing something wrong, because I am following the exact directions I see online.

I have an iPhone 4, I am trying to pair it with the car. I went to the 'Settings' app on my iPhone, then 'Bluetooth', and it said 'Now Discoverable..'. On the car, I pressed the phone button on the steering wheel. A few seconds later, the voice says, "No phones found".

I apologize if this discussion has been brought up before, but I seem to be doing everything that the online discussions say to do.

Same here man I got an 08 as well. I LOVE IT!!!!
I paired my iphone 4 with it as well. Took me a while to figure out but heres what you do:
Press the bluetooth button to speak and say system and then it should say something like pair phone. Once you get there it is pretty self explanatory. You will have to make a password and it is as simple as that!

I see the OP got his answer, but in case anyone else has the same issue, I've found over the years that it sometimes helps to start the pairing process on the device (the TL, in this case, or your earpiece or whatever) and then to put the phone into discoverable mode.
