Unhappy Issue with 2005 TL Navi: Keeps resetting.

I did a search here and Google and nothing to pinpoint a solution.

I just bought a 2005 Acura TL with 60K miles on it. I LOVE the car, but I just noticed that the Navi acts up a lot.

When I start the car, it first shows the "Acura: NAVIGATION" screen, right? Then after it goes into the screen with the orange text stating precautions/safety then after a short time it's suppose to bring up the "OK" icon on the lower right hand corner, right? Well, sometimes before that "OK" icon can pop-up it resets and goes right back to the "Acura: Navigation" screen and sometimes this repeats frequent. I can't figure out why. Sometimes it will do it 3X then finally the "OK" icon pops up and everything works fine. Sometimes it will reset 9X+

Once the "OK" icon pops up and I press it, everything works fine and NO resetting occurs once it passes that.

Radio works fine even while this is occurring.

Any suggestions? Besides taking it in to HONDA since that will cost and arm & a leg since I have no warranty

Ive taken out the DVD (does have some scratches) out and cleaned it and back in, but still occurs randomly.

Could it be the DVD istelf? If I get a new one (I know they're expensive) may it help?

If so, could I use a different version? I have 3.5 (Orange). . . will a 3.6 (orange) or higher work?

Sorry for all the questions, just hoping someone could help

Thanks in advance

First of all, welcome to AZ The easiest thing to do is try a different disc. If you can find a local member to allow you to try theirs, it would eleminate that as an issue or find that you need a new disc. Good luck

Thank you for the welcome and insight.

I think the less "expensive" route for a first step would be a disc. Mines is 3.5 and does shows some scratches, so if I'm getting another one might as well a newer version.

Will version 3.6 orange work/compalibilty?

Thanks in advance

My 07 did that. . .but was still under warranty, they blamed it on a bad DVD drive and disk. Replaced both - I guess it is fairly common as far as issues (at least you aren't the only one).
