iSimple Questions

I have a 2004 w/ Navi, I don't think it has xm traffic. I have XM activated and use it daily, but would like my Samsung Galaxy to be able to connect to the audio system and stream music. If you install the Isimple on the car do you:

1 - Lose XM functionality?
2 - What happens to the existing Bluetooth? Do they cross breed or turn into some hybrid or something (meaning do phone calls try to go thru the factory and/or the isimple)?
3 - I have read that the screen on the car does and does not display streaming audio information, so I guess I am confused, does it?
4 - I have read that answering phone calls with the unit is difficult, I am confused by this, do you not just simply hit answer and it works?
5 - Where do you guys recommend buying a unit from?

Thanks for any answers I can get, I like to know as much as possible before doing any mod's to my car.

I just installed mine and it worked initially but once I left the car in the "on" position while getting gas and then started it up again it hasn't worked since. It just shows AUX1 and I've tried turning the tune knob and get nothing...

So from what I found from installing it, it takes over the XM radio I believe as that is the setting you use to play the music. Not sure about the Bluetooth but using the isimple unit as bluetooth isn't that difficult you just need to learn the controls on the interface. As for display it will show up on the top display and also when you hit the "audio" button. I bought mine off the best buy website, amazon is good also.

How do you like it? I've been looking at one for my car but wasn't sure if it worked well.

Overall I love the product, it may seem difficult to use at first but after you get used to it, its a great product. You get the same quality as if you were to put a CD in, I couldn't use the tape adapter any longer it was driving me crazy. Also the steering wheel controls are a plus. Forgot, to mention the bluetooth handsfree option also. The install didnt take too long, I took off the chrome trim piece to the left of the radio, the kick panel(by your right foot) and the panel under the steering wheel (with the VSA button). Hardest part was attaching the plug to the back of the radio, used a chopstick. I fed the usb adapter through the center console.

NOTE: If you do get it you, to scroll through the different options such as IPODUSB, IPODBT etc. you have to push the am/fm button then the XM radio button and within 6secs turn the tune knob to whatever option you want. This part I didn't know about so I thought I'd share.

Do you have to do that every time you start the car?

No. The car will start back up in the mode you left it in. Just when switching modes. I'd say about 90% of the time when I start my car it starts automatically playing music from my phone...the other night I started it at work and was brushing snow off and rap music was blaring lol
