Alright here is the deal...I just traded my father in law for his Acura TL a month ago. Today I disconnected the battery, and I need the radio code.

Trouble is, it is a Canadian car. And he replaced the radio a few months ago, and I don't have the code! I called Acura Canada, and they are closed. I went to the website below, but my car is Canadian so it won't accept my VIN

My question is, can someone use their vin and info and my serial number and just get me the reset code? I have been lightly posting on here for a month or so, I'm not a thief or anything.

I don't think anything needs to match, I just think you need an American VIN and the details have to match for the owner.

My serial number on the radio is: U 1113 L 4551. I think you just enter it as 11134551. It would be a big help, and I'd owe you one (I'll buy you a drink if you are in the Chicago area!)

Nevermind. I called a friend who works at a used car dealership. Just an FYI, I used his VIN and info and my radio code and it worked fine. Tried it with his VIN and my info and it wouldn't accept it. So, anyone can use their info and VIN to get any radio's unlock code.

 

You'll need to pull the radio out, get the numbers off the back and call the dealer. It's not going to work any other way.

 

If you go to the website I linked and put in US info, you can do it...but you are right, you need the serial number off of the radio...on 04-06 you can just hold 1 and 6 presets and turn on and it shows it on the screen..saved me a lot of hassle.

 

Good day, it happens I am 2nd owner of 2007 Acura MDX via auction. I tried using both VIN and radio serial number I have at d linked website and am being asked of zip code and phone number/e-mail of 1st owner. How can I get the radio codes since I don't have the 1st owner info.

 

That website is the correct one, but you have to wait a few days to get the code. I guess it takes a little of bit of time for your information to propagate from the DMV to Acura's system. When I got my car, I couldn't get it either, but a week later I tried again and I got the codes.

 

Or if you give someone your radio code they can use their vin and info...doesn't have to be the radio in your car specifically

I actually have VIN:2HNYD28227H506230 and radio serial number:22001655. I tried to use these on the link but not successful. I will be grateful to get the code either placed here or mail to me.
