iSimple + iPhone 4 = Works great! (as well as HFL)

I just received my iPhone 4 and after reading that iOS 4 was not compatible with the iOS 4, I decided to give it a shot. Lo and behold, it worked flawlessly. Controls worked and it was extremely speedy. So for those of you who are scared off by the incompatibility, no worries! Let me know if any of you have any questions

So, you're saying the PXAMG-IC is not necessary when using an iPhone 4? Can someone else confirm this? I'd rather not deal with the IC upgrade if it's not necessary with the new iPhone, which I hope to pick up in the next week or two.

Here are some pictures for proof. I didn't have time to resize them, as I have class in half an hour, so I won't post them on to the forum. Here are the direct links:

Interesting. Thank you for the pictures. I think I'll hold off ordering the chip until after I try it with the iPhone 4.

$30 for that simple small IC is a ripoff. $10 shipped is more like it..

Just for the hell of it I decided to see for myself that iOS4 wasn't working and I plugged my iPhone 3G that I upgraded on Monday into my iSimple and lo and behold it worked just fine. I dismissed the incompatibility warning and it started playing. Full steering wheel controls, display and everything worked. I have the 5v cable and a really old generic (not Honda/Acura specific) firmware version. I think it's like .36 or something.

My iPhone 4 hooked up and linked just fine with my 2007 Type S. The address book also reloaded without a problem. I came from a 3G (not a 3G S), and it seems like the older iPhone made a quicker "handshake" when I start the car. But the new iPhone 4 still links up with the Type S' HFL.
