hey every one
i have this great idea but not sure if it can be done, and need some help from experts.
lets say I install tvandnav2go, one input goes for back up camera, and one for other video source.
Apple has "Component AV Cable" wich splits into Audio R, Audio L, Video, and power. Does any one actually has a diagram of wiring inside apples cable?
how does isimple get song information? is there a data wire in there as well?
If so then I suppose Isimple only uses data, power, audio L, audio R.
So basically if we do some soldering, we can have those 4 wires going into isimple wich will still let us control playlists and files ( video, audio doesnt matter) and one video out that will go into doms tvandnav2go unit?
So I really would appreciate if someone would help me find diagrams of regular pc to iphone cable and Component AV Cable.
what do you guyz think? is that possiable?
also any recommendations on delay relay for back up cam, so it wont turn on every time i shift from p to d on automatic transmission?

I have been out of the loop for a while, but I am guessing that you are trying to get around the fact that both the iSimple and Apple's cable uses the iPod connector?

Sorry, but I don't have any diagrams to share, but your idea has potential. I just think there will be more than four cables involved. A Google search for "ipod connector pinout" resulted in a few schematics.

Next question, have you taken a look at the Valor iLink? There are a few links in the Audio FAQ about this particular module. This module has been around for a while. I would check to see if they have upgraded versions. Maybe their latest version already does what you want.

I'll take a look at it, but the thing is i already have isimple installed and will be gettin natv2go for backup cam so wanted to get video out of the as well, because i cant justify paying 280 for back up camera setup, now with video from iphone that makes it a good deal. I found some diagrams need more time to figure them out, next week i got midterms and after that i'll start working on it closely

sorry but no one has ever gotten it to work with the isimple with video out. have to go oem apple cable for that. this question been asked many time, i answered it almost 10 times.........but just do a search and you'll relize why. i belive jptl07 (username i believe) has it going but hes using two cable, if you want that it is possible just have to spend more money ie cable from apple 50. but there is no way u can get off with one cable as of right now unless u want to try and hack it.
im just using the apple oem cable instead of isimple for this reason, untill a release is out with video output im content.

thnx alot i actually understood how it did,
but just another though is that you lose controls from the radio that way and can only control via iphone, but if we were to get schematics of iphone to av cable and i simples doc connector cable we could prolly do some soldering and get video,audio and steering wheel controls, but thats just a though and i am prolly gona go with the setup you have espesially that i found used periphera ipod to tv cable for 10 buks on ebay

I have a similar setup that I am currently installing. I have been waiting for the Dice Video breakout cradle to be released. It should have the ability to break the video stream out, but still hook to a dock connector. The idea is that you plug the iPhone into the dock and the iSimple iPod cable plugs into the cradle and you still get charging and control, but have the video out to run into Doms.

The iSimple came with a standard Aux cable, so you could kludge it and swap connectors when you wanted the video, but you would lose control and could not have HD radio.

I will using a modified Accord Fog light switch and a relay to switch between Nav and Video. Hopefully I can start the dash teardown on Saturday.

are you talking about the Dice dock? I thought it was sold out.. Ive been working on a company to make a "breakout" cable.. havent received it yet tho to test it out..

well athough that is not sold anymore, can can still technically achieve isimples radio controls + video
We can use http://modernicaonline.com/Merchant2...iPodAccesories thats an apples dock, and connect isimple to it via dock connector and use svideo to rca cable to connect that to doms tvandnav2go unit
altough i already bough peripheral ipod to rca cable for 6$ so i'll go with that setup

Yeah, but will that dock work with the new iPhone 3.0 OS or higher? It didn't say anything about the iPhone, or did I miss that?
I have the dice cradle and it's a no go!

According to Apple the dock will only work if you get the Apple cord also. I dont have the link right now, but you can search it on the apple site.

Its really not worth paying around 100$ for that equipment just to retain controls from steering wheel for videos

This is your opinion.. im sure many dont think your foot wells, aspec, accord fogs etc are not worth whatever you spent on it either.
