Got a lil progress done today

well a few weeks ago i posted about trying to run my iphones in my car via ipod interface. i wanted to use my Iphone 3g for music only. i most buy Cd's since i don't like the quality loss when using portable devices, but i don't wanna have a car full of cd's, i have my favorites in the 6 disc changer and the rest on my iphone. I plan on using my older 1st gen iphone for videos only, since its not my primary phone anymore and i only use it as my tmobile pre-paid so here we go. I will be installing my Nav2go also in this thread but like to take my time,

use a step bit to get the correct cut out then used a plastic grommet to run the 3g's input dock connector .

Im going to run the 3g in the arm rest and the 1st gen in the glove box.

This is what im using for the first gen it has 2 audio out and 1 video out so it will be perfect i can run audio in to the isimple and 1 video to the nav2go unit.

OK I have some quick questions regarding your install.. So you have 2 iPhones..

- Old iPhone is in glove box and connected to iSimple via the cable that comes with the iSimple. So, this iPhone only performs music.. This I understrand

- New iPhone - you have this AV Cable. You connect the video RCA cable to Doms.. How do you connect the audio? You connect it to the iSimple? How do you do this? The iSimple has some other type of connector .. it does not have RCA cable in's. How do you get the sound from this iPhone into the car? This I don't understand.. dogh..

I might be getting your setup all wrong, but I need to understand yours to get my setup up and running lol ..

Thanks in advanced!

yes I have 2 Iphone, the iphone 3g is only for music since it has more storage then my Iphone(first gen) which is video only. I have my Iphone 3g running through a main dock connector running into the Isimple's first input(which shows up as Ipod on the screen) and i have the First gen Iphone running the the second port(aux1/2) i have a isimple audio/video cored that send audio to the isimple unit and i send video to the nav2go unit.

this is what im using to get audio and video out for the first gen Iphone

How does this cord connect to the isimple? The isimple does not take RCA cables. What is the name of this cable? Saw slot of cables on the isimple site.

the isimple does take rca cables they come in the box when you order from uncald4, at least mine did.
You can add a second input that doesn't have steering wheel controls.
ie DVD player, second ipod, zune etc.

The isimple unit comes with both the data to ipod cable and a data to rca

a customer bough this from best buy and only used it to hook up his blackberry to his car radio and said i could keep the ipod A/V cable. so thats where i got it from.
