iSimple 37b firmware still hasn't fixed artist display problem
I was so excited to see new firmware had been posted because I was sure they would have listened to those of us who complained about the artist text display problem and fixed it. And alas, I initially thought it was fixed. I flashed the firmware, reconnected all the cables, let it sit in accessory mode for 3 minutes, then turned the car to on and connected all three of my iPods and they all displayed perfectly. Changing tracks was fine, changing iPods was fine. I then turned the car off and upon getting in this morning to come to work, I noticed it was back to saying iPod for the artist display and behaving in the same manner as 36e, which means sometimes I can get the artist to display and sometimes it just always displays iPod.
I'm really at a loss as to what to do about this. I'm going to re-flash some older firmware that used to work (but has other issues) and see if that fixes it just to see if it's not my hardware that has crapped out, but I really suspect it is a bug in their code.

This is an '05 TL. I have a navi model and this is happening on the navi display. I have not pushed the display button, but as far as I know that only really affects the top dash display. This was working fine before version 36e.

I don't get three dashes in the place where it should say IPOD. Mine actually says IPOD. Don't know if this is because of the '05 vs '07 radio thing or not.

I did test pressing the display button and as I suspected all it did was change the top dash display and when it cycled around to the artist display it said IPOD just as it was displayed on the navi screen.

Yes, with the navi unit the display button only works the top screen. I wasn't sure which radio you had. I will see if our engineers can replicate this issue in a vehicle. If so they should be able to fix it. I do know they are busy with other projects so i do not know how soon this item will be addressed.

Well the problem I have here is that the display was working before the 36e update. Something they did in that version broke this and the problem was brought up by not just me, but others on this forum as soon as the 36e update came out. I consider this a major bug and something that should have been addressed with the 37b update. I even sent in a bug report as soon as I found the issue back in May.

As you can see, I have become extremely frustrated with this product and have not and will not recommend it to anyone until a stable version of software has been released that does what it is advertised. I have owned this product since late Dec and to this point, I have not found a version that does that.

What's the story ???
I have the iPhone with the 3.0 software, I updated the Peripherals firmware 37b and it doesn't work. Will the peripherals piece ever going to work for the iPhone and the latest software???
I'm currently using it via the Aux2 port... which is cool, but wished I never upgraded my iPhone software.
I have a 2006 Acura TL with navigation.

I'm still having the same issues as AMIC. Display issues and the PXAMG defaulting to repeat. I did the reset by draining the capacitor as instructed by Peripheral. That worked for a little until I restarted the car. I should of stayed with v.25! Also I disconnected the battery to do some other work and when I reconnected the battery the car would not recognize the PXAMG(xm button didnt work). I'll have to do another reset to resolve that issue. I'm thinking about taking the unit back to Best Buy to see If I can get another one.

well... I upgraded my iPhone's firmware to 3.0.1 and my PXAMG to 37b and I still have no luck using my phone as I did before. it just doesn't recongnize the iPhone period... I already have the 5V cable... the PXAMG does recognize my Aux2 source without an issue... I guess I have a very expensive iPhone charger for now...

The module should be recognizing the module weather it is a 3G or a 1st Gen nano. The 3G software has nothing to do with recognition. I would start looking at the cable and how where its plugged it. It should be in the port farthest from the dip switches. Even if it is plugged in i would disconnect and reconnect the cable and ensure it is fully seated.

AMIC,
As we speak my guys are in a 2006 TL with Navi. They have seen your issue but get it correct itself by changing the track. Is this the same in your vehicle?

It will sometimes correct itself by changing the track, but sometimes it does not and other times it will stick with the previous artist after changing the track. I get the IPOD display basically every time I start up the car, then like I've said sometimes I get it to correct itself and it'll work for a while and then get stuck on the previous artist. I've had it play though a whole album by the same artist while displaying IPOD the entire time.

Mine only displays iPod on the overhead display no matter what I do. The main Navi screen will show the correct track/playlist when i cycle through. That part works fine. But its annoying because I don't always use the screen when I drive. The upper display was perfect for me to cycle through songs and playlists.
This only started happening when i upgraded my iphone (1g) to 3.0. Any ideas how to make it work the way it did before?
2005 TL Navi.

i got so frustrated with trying to see the artist display and scroll through artists only to have the unit crash once i got past the D's (I have 25 Gigs loaded on my iTouch) that i just use Aux 1. Aux two is just a way to play mp3's through the factory stereo, Aux 1 does the same but it gets the audio from the cable thereby giving the option to change tracks through the stereo and steering wheel controls as well as from the iPod itself. I must say, after using it this way i highly prefer "Aux 1" over "iPod" even if they fix the bugs. Also, it looks cooler when the album cover lights up my dash from the iPod. I'll post some pix in a minute....let me go take some 1st.

here's the pix i was refering to. Notice how the iTouch doesn't say accessory connected? Also, notice that i have full control of track changing through the iTouch. You can't see it but i also have the necessary controls available from both the radio and the steering wheel. The controls available are: track up/down, repeat on/off, random on/off, and scan ff/rw. I don't mind not seeing track name or artist on the screen...most of the time it gave off false information anyhow...

Hopefully it does I am currently running .36e and it displays everything fine. I had to go back after installing .37b because of the display issue. Let me know if you want the older firmware and I ll send it to you.

Its a ipod/aux input device. For the ipod it allows for use of steering wheel buttons and text display.
Look here for the install in a Type S

Display is still a mess. It has --- for category and Ipod for artist. I am switching back to .36e. The only thing I did notice is it looked like it paused the song when I received a call. I am not sure if it was frozen or what was up with it.

This is not encouraging. I've been having the display problems since upgrading to .36e. It worked great under .26 but there were other issues with large iPods that seem to have gotten fixed with .36e and .37b but now the display is not working properly.

Im kind of pissed! I upgraded to the new .37e and now my artist info does not display right. When I switch a song, it changes it but it does not display the song infrmation. Its like it gets stuck with the previous song. Im such an idiot cause it was working good but I ended up doing it cause I saw that it was an upgrade. If anyone can PM so that I can get an older firmware that is stable I'll appreciated.
Im kind of dissapointed with the Audio however. With my casette adpater and the right EQ setting and volume, it sounded great. Specially with the volume!
Aughhhh...Im just so frustated!
