I recently installed a used isim73 i bought from amazon per other people's recommendation on the board.

Everything works - i can play music and everything. However, my phone does not charge. I am currently using the iphone 4.

I have upgraded the to the latest firmware on the isimple brain and everything...

I already read about this 5v from 12v issue and bought a product that was suppose to cure that but the phone will still not charge...

Can anyone shed any light?

if you got an old one you may need the charging chip update.

oh... i thought all the isim73's charged the phone... i have the isim73 and it charges my iPhone 4 just fine.

never knew some didn't charge...

 

yeah me too... i thought that if i bought the isim73 everything would work and I wouldn't need to get anything else.

I'll try to buy this and see if it works... or should I just return the item and get something else?

I just bought what others on the forum told me to buy... so now I'm wondering If I just got a defective device?

 

Personally, I'd do the USA Spec. Seems to be less glitchy. Had a PA15ACUXL for a couple years and it was flawless.
