Ipod integration...keep XM/Navi and get text

I have 2006 TL w/ Navi and XM. Since I drove > 50k miles last yr, I'm not giving either up! I was all set to buy the Dice r4 for my ipod, when I came across this link. The Dice looks great except I would love text display (and keep XM).

Is anyone familiar with this unit?
Does it charge while the car is on?
Does the ipod retain full control along with the factory buttons?

If anyone is familiar with it, let me know...this could be a great new find, but I'm skeptical!

Currently [to my knowledge] there is not a signal device out there that lets you keep both XM and iPOD text - the reason is all of the adapters plug into the cd-c port, which does not have text capabilities; you either disable XM and get the text or keep XM and loose the text =/

I thought Nick was doing background on a new PIE interface that does both?

the firmware in the radio does not support it, but what the seller might be trying to say is that you will have the text and still be able to use XM, but you will get no XM information, just XM sound.

I think something along the lines of that is in the works o_O

I had PM'd back and forth with him about different ideas on how it could possibly work, dunno how far along DICE is with it though

Ahhh...I knew there had to be a catch. This explaination makes sense. Since I am going to the trouble in hardwire my ipod, would you recommend enabling video on the Nav screen? If so, what do you recommend?

(This is only my second post, even though I have read through tons of threads...you guys are superhelpful, thanks for all the great info!)

You can do the following stuff:
If you want IPOD video and DVD video on the navi screen with full audio, you will need the following:
Dom's TVNAV2GO module
USA-SPEC HON2Y or DICE Unit
Camcorder video cord

If you want full integration with everything on screen, but with no control from the steering wheel or radio, you can go with:
Dom's TVNAV2GO
Valor I-LINK
Dice or USA SPEC HON2Y

I did a little more research...looks like autotoys offers an "adapter" to use with the Dice r4...it's $137, but I don't think I need text that bad. Click the link and scroll down a bit.
