The sound is better than plugging the cable into the headphone jack. The other thing is that you can easily use it in another vehicle.

I have the ipod dock at home for connecting the ipod to the home stereo. It connects via the ipod connector also. Better sound there too.

 

Hey JON_M. I just recieved my Ipod Lighter Socket Charger. Item seems really nice and shippment was very fast. My only problem is that when I have the Tape Adapter Plugged in the Side of the unit, it sounds really distorted like the Volume on the Ipod is turned all the way up. I am using the Sony Tape Adapter. What kind of Tape Adapter are you using and where did you buy it? I think it might be the my tape adapter. Otherwise, have you experienced this when you first got yours? If so, what did you do to make it sound good?

I have a no name brand that I bought at Walmart. It came with a universal car charger (which I don't need) for only about $14 Canadian.

How old is your tape adapter? I've heard they have a relatively short lifespan sometimes. They all have very thin wires which get damaged easily.

Try buying a couple of different ones and try them out until you find one that works best, then return the ones that don't work.

 

Jon_M. Thanks for your feedback. I will probably go try out a couple, the things is that it works just fine through the out on the Ipod.

The good things is that i contacted Semens and they said to try out a few other things and if i still have the same problem. Send it back for a full refund.

I recommend ordering things from this company. Very pleasant to deal with and fast replies.

 

 

I just bought one similar, made by DLO in Silver (they have black too)! Costs twice as much but also comes w/the cassette adapter. Thought it matched the 05 TL interior well, and the CLA plug and extender are black, which should blend in well, (over white).

In fact, I like it so much, I've ordered it and I'll sell my white one to my buddy.!!

 

I just installed it last night and it really looks nice. The silver is a good hue much to the TL's aluminum, and like I thought the black extenders blend in nicely, (although they could have done a much better job with the elbow bends to allow the to turn as well; kind of a pain).
