iPod/DVD Integration Question

I've been searching for a way to add DVD and video iPod while retaining my XM radio. I've read a ton of threads and probably missed this, but.....

couldn't someone use the aux inputs on the DVD player to connect the ipod?? Then simply change the source on the DVD player to display and hear the ipod rather than the dvd player??

I currently have Dom's unit with only the backup camera installed. If I hook up the DVD video to Dom's unit, then use [pick your audio unit here] the USA Spec for audio, wouldn't the ipod be able to use the same video and audio as the dvd player? I guess I would have the issue of charging the ipod...

Any thoughts out there??

do you want to has the track info and everything displayed onto the navi screen for the IPOD? If so you would have to buy the valor iLink. The DVD player will send video to DOMS unit and audio to the USA SPEC. Pulg the valor ILink video/audio cables into the aux port onto the dvd player and put the ipod cable in the ipod. Basically this is how it works:

IPOD->Valor iLink-> DVD player AUX-> Dom's unit -. Navi screen

If you do not wank track stuff displayed, you could get one of those IPOD kits from radioshack which has the cord for audio and video stuff, plug the USA SPEC adapter into the bottom and use the headphone jack for the video. That is how i do it since i really don't care about track info on screen.

If you are able to find a DVD player that supports aux inputs, then yes you can use the player to connect the iPod. You'll wouldn't need a fancy iPod audio interface like the USA Spec, you can go for the simple Blitzafe HON/AUX DMX. What you will be losing is the ability to automatically charge your iPod and maybe the steering wheel controls. You can remedy the charging the iPod with a simple cig adapter to iPod cable.

So, DVD video to Dom, DVD audio to Blitsafe, and iPod to DVD aux input. Simple solution for DVD + iPod.
