Iphone video input with NavTool

Does anyone know how to get the video on their navigation screen though the navtool and pie x3? I have a dvd player hooked up and that works, so I went into port two and bought Iphone aux cables and the audio works, but video doesn't. Am I missing something here? I want to get my Iphone onto my navigation screen. Is it possible with the PIEX3 and NavTool?

Is the NavTool the same as the Nav2Go? On the second video port, it's designed for the backup camera. There's a wire that would have to be connected to the backup light signal. So any 12v power source would work I'm assuming. Then hook it up to an "on" and "off" switch to select to turn that on. Another way is getting a video switcher, like I have. the one "out" from the switcher goes to the main video of the NavTool. And the other video sources go into the "in" on the switcher.

You might want to check the cable first to see if it's compatible with the iPhone. Do a simple check and connect it to your tv set. I got a great deal on my A/V apple composite on amazon for $20 slightly used.

iOS 3.1 and up have required the use of cables with authentication chips in them, to output video. white cables usually go for ~$20 on ebay.

genuine apple cables go for $50

or you can jailbreak the phone and install a program that'll allow you to use generic cables.

New cables worked but it doesn't allow steering controls. Is the simple equipped with a special module to activate that?
