iPhone integration/charger for Non-Navi?
I searched through many posts and I am still confused. Most of the threads seem to be for cars with NAVI, or they are about display on Non-navi cars, but no iPhone charging, and since I'm a noob with this stuff I need some straight answers.
Is there a connection for iPod that will play and display name of the song/time, that will also play music of my iPhone (doesn't have to display song/time, it seems to be asking too much from it), and that will charge my iPhone?
I do have some kind of iPod hook up that charges the iPod but it doens't charge the iPhone.
thanks

i believe the isimple unit will allow integration with your stock non navi radio and steering wheel controls -- will show artists and tracks like xm. i don't think it will charge the device, but it won't draw power from the iphone's battery.
feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, but that's what i believe is the best option for you (if i'm correct).

yea I read that iSimple will do all that for the iPod, but you are saying I can play music off my iPhone and it will not drain power from it? how is that?
Anyone else can confirm this, or know of a better idea?

The iSimple WILL charge any iPod or iPhone. The new generation iPhones and iPods will need a special cord though. When you purchase the iSimple make sure you get the upgraded cord. I purchased the iSimple from Best Buy. It did not come with the cord to charge my iPhone 3gs. I contacted the vendor uCald on here and got the iPhone power cord from him.

so if I do get the iSimple, I can play music from both iPhone and iPod, and both will be charged. All I need is upgraded cord to charge the iPhone. Thanks bzyrice. earlier today I sent out an email to iSimple ppl on their site and I asked them what I should buy and what will do exactly what I asked above. Let's see what they say then I will make my decision.

Good to know! I would get it from uncald4 then because if you go to best buy you will not know if it is an old kit with the old cord or not.
