Question iPhone Caller-ID not working with HFL

Just got a new iPhone 3Gs. Only problem I have had is that it doesn't display Caller-ID when a call comes in. I found it mentioned in passing on another thread that others were having the same problem.

I have an 05 TL.

Just wanted to get some feedback from iPhone users - does caller-id work or not?

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem and have noticed that the volume of the call is much less, probably just using one speaker from my 04 TL.

When the iphone is being used in bluetooth mode, press the volume buttons on the side to adjust the bluetooth volume. Mine sounds fine.

As for the first post, caller ID shows up on my iphone but on the dash display it only says "incoming call".

Caller ID for me seems intermittent. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I really can't pinpoint if it got worse after the 3.0 software update or not.

Good to know it can work. I am going to try to re-pair it. It took the iPhone longer to connect during the pairing process than any other phone I've owned.

Same here, it works about 80-90% of the time. Software upgrade didn't chang that at all.

As far as the volume, just do as is mentioned above during s call over your HFL press the up volume button on the phone. Then you'll see Bluetooth volume graph on your iPhone. I set mine to max -1.

the new iphone and the update now uses a2dp bluetooth so the volume will be slightly lower on your usual setting compared to one that didnt have the update. But as PhilB81 said, just raise the volume on the iphone

Same issues. Just got an iPhone 3G S on Weds with an 04 TL with Navi. Had the pairing issues, the volume issues and the no caller id issues. What a surprise. With all the great things I've heard about all things Apple, I wasn't expecting any of this. Caller ID showed up two phones ago and now the most technologically advanced phone does not...amazing. In any event, the volume issue was solved as noted above. Before pairing, I deleted all existing phones in HFL. The pairing process took surprisingly long but did work. However the next day there were no phones found. Had to do the process over again. Did that yesterday morning, paired the phone and HFL. Have the bluetooth to connect manually each time I get in the car (should preserve battery life, right?). Connected fine on my return trip home last night. Hope that continues. All this seems like it would be an Apple issue, but given that different software versions have the same issues, it appears they are not looking to fix it.
