i tried searching for the specific answer...but came up short.

be easy on me if the answer lies somewhere in these threads...

07 type-s, iphone 3gs...here are my 2 questions.

i'd like to dock my iphone on the dash like others have done, being able to play music thru my car audio, etc etc.

is there any kind of product that will allow me to stream the artist, track, etc thru the nav screen?

secondly, is there a product out there that will allow you to stream video, say from youtube, to the nav screen? if not, is it at all possible to make this happen?

any help is appreciated, thanks guys/girls!

I'm not sure about showing artists on the navi screen. The iSimple devices I think only show in the display where the clock is.

To view youtubes on the navi display, look in my sig for a link to my setup. I can play videos on the nav screen from both YouTube and the iPod app on the iPhone. 3rd party apps can't use the video out on the phone.
If you jailbreak your phone, well you can get the screen splitter app and display everything ur phone displays on the navi screen.

so now i understand everything i need for the audio portion.

for video, i just need to grab the Dom's nav unit, yes? i hardwire that to the trunk and just run a cable up to the center console?

Yup you got it! Here are the wires u need:
1 power wire for doms unit, (I think mine is 24 gauge pretty small uses very little current).
2 small wires for your video input switch. Doms unit comes with like 3 feet of wire you need way more to get the switch by where the driver is.
Lastly you need a video cable. I bought mine from monoprice.com great cable awesome price. I think I have a link on my setup thread.

I only ended up needing to remove the aluminum trim on the passenger side of the console and i managed to fish my wires that way. It was real hard to remove. Far far worse than removing the trim in my 01 CL... I went through all emotions... Some crying some anger than back to crying... I was sure i was going to break the pastic shroud around the navi display next to the passenger temperature controls.
Anyways best of luck I'll try to check ur thread or my PM frequently to see if you have questions.
Btw you'll be real happy with the mod! I love it!

iSimple shows information on both the upper panel and the navigation screen.

To get audio (with info on screen) and video, you would need something like the iSimple and Dom's.

For your car both units will install in the trunk, Dom's to the navi unit, iSimple to the XM unit. You'll have to run the iSimple cable up to the front for audio with artist, track, etc. on the navi, and a separate set of Apple AV Composite cables to the front for the video.

This is the exact setup I have, and I just switch between adapters when I want video. All goes to my Pro Clip swivel mount. Very clean setup.
