Exclamation Installing an XPLOD monosubwoofer amp and subwoofer...I need ADVICE!!

Alright you guys, I currently have a single 1300w XPLOD subwoofer installed in my car with a performance technique amplifier. I'm planning on purchasing a new XPLOD momosubwoofer amplifier and a new 1300w XPLOD subwoofer that way i can have a system with two subs and an amplifier for each of the subwoofers. I already have a line running from my battery to my current set-up and I was wondering if I would need an additional line coming from the battery to power up the second amp that I'm planning to get. Would I also need a capacitor? Anyone have any ideas or solutions as to what I should do?

Well I would suggest an optimum battery in the trunk. Thats ALOT of stress on an OEM battery. Don't be suprised if you need a new battery every 8 months.

  1. Determine the wire gauge (thickness) of the power cable coming from the battery.
  2. Find the fuses located in the amp housings and determine their ratings
  3. Add the two fuse ratings to determine your maximum possible current pull
  4. Reference the following table to determine the maximum safe allowable current for the power cable gauge.
  • Gauge 00 - 175 amps
  • Gauge 0 - 150 amps
  • Gauge 1 - 125 amps
  • Gauge 2 - 100 amps
  • Gauge 4 - 80 amps
  • Gauge 6 - 60 amps
  • Gauge 8 - 46 amps

Note that these current ratings make a variety of assumptions that are very, very conservative and you shouldn't have any safety or performance problems following the table above.

Hey man you are going to either power the second amp through the first one or go online or find somewhere near you that sells a dual amp wiring kit. I have the rockford fosgate dual amp wiring kit from crutchfield it works well.
