Infinity Kappa 62.7i w/o tweeter hooked up

I have already upgraded the stock location tweeters to 1011t's and they made quite a difference. I have a 32.7 center channel which helped even more.

Then.. I upgraded to the 62.7i's in the doors and used the supplied crossovers and hooked up the tweeter connections on those as well. Now it seems that there is too much of a sharp/brassy sound with all the tweeters.

Question is, can I unhook the tweeters in the Kappa door speakers and just run the mids alone without killing the sound of the mids since they are a 2ohm load with the tweets hooked up (like the stock mids ohm rating) and a 4ohm load on mids alone?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

This is pretty much what I did with mine. I started with the Kappa 63.7 3-ways in the doors and the 1021 silk dome tweeters in the dash. The Kappa metal tweeters were too harsh so I unplugged the tweet and "tweet/mid". The sound was much better and more tolerable at high volume. Then I bypassed the crossover for the mids and ran the factory wires straight to the mid which gave me a little more volume.

The doors and dash tweeters are wired in parallel. I'm running the 2 ohm tweeters and 2ohm mids without a problem so you should be ok.
