Inaccurate NAVI system

I have an 04 TL. Within the past week, my navigation has me in the general area, but traveling through fields, over water and anywhere except on the road I am traveling. Before last week, it was extremely accurate. Anyone know what possibly could be casuing this?

The number of satellites available has a direct affect on accuracy... This happened to me once, but it fixed itself the following week.

The dealership replaced my entire navi for this problem. Seems to work ok now.

do u have metallic tint? that could be the problem....also disconnecting the battery and letting it settle for a bit then reconnecting might fix it....my friends FX45's navi messed up when we went through the lincoln tunnel and we came out in new york and it said we were somewhere in connecticut...we pulled over and restarted the car...that didn't work so we disconnected the battery went to get something to eat...came back and everything was tip top shape

My windows do not have any tinting on them. I was really suprised as it has worked very well for a year and a half.

Maybe a reboot is needed, I know there is a way to do this, but can not remember, maybe it is as easy as removing the Nav DVD and reinstalling? Or disconnecting the battery for a little while.

You are right on the money . That's what my dealership told me to do if and when the Navi would get messed up. Eject the Navi DVD in the trunk, and re-insert it. That reboots the navi system.

Me tooo

I live in SF too and have had the same problem. Monday was really bad for me, but everytime it messes up it seems to correct itself.

I think it has to do with how many sats are in view at any time.
