Illumination a** backwards

I have been having trouble with my radio clock display in my 2007 type S I've narrowed it down to when I use my Power Probe and throw a ground at the illumination switch my gauges will go Max bright and I lose all illumination on my radio climate control display if I throw ground at it again the radio climate control is bright gauges are off this only happens when the Park lights or headlights are on in Auto and off mode radio display will not come on could this possibly be a bad switch I am so confused why this is happening extremely frustrated I would like to have both again not have to choose between one or the other any help would be greatly appreciated

We're not entirely sure what you're trying to tell us. When you say 'throw a ground,' what do you mean?
