If you have a BlueTooth phone, which one and how is it working?
Now that I'm getting a new TL, I'm dying to upgrade my phone to one with BlueTooth capability.
If you have a Bluetooth phone:
[1] What model?
[2] What carrier?
[3] How well does it work with your TL?
Thanks!

T616 - Sony Ericsson. Easy to use, compact, gives a good signal (most of the time).
If you read about the issue of the voice distortion, it's not a biggie deal. Not as bad as people being TOO nit-picky on certain things.

T616 (upgraded) and AT&T in SF Bay Area. Works good when phone is in my pocket and great when I set phone at some place that it gets better reception (my phone fits nicely in the dash where the passenger temp readout is).
Phone was very easy to pair with TL and dash indicator is complete with signal strength, roaming indicator and battery power. AT&T has had so holes in GSM coverage in the SF Bay Area, but are now advertising about how good their coverage is.
T616 must be upgraded to R1B firmware, but new ones should all have this latest firmware. The R1B firmware gives the phone much better signal strength.

Sony Ericsson Z600, T-mobile, works great as long as I use the commands correctly. but sometimes the multi display always shows the phone info rather than the trip meter or something else.

I did do a search, but page after page of bluetooth posts were about 90% related to cellular carrier issues, not whether or not the phone worked with the TL. I made a new post with the simple question -- what phone and how does it work.

Cingular and the SE T616.. no crackles (came with the latest firmware).. gets the one second delay when answering, but I guess that's just the Bluetooth handshake, no biggy there.
Now, the HFL voice recognition, that's a different story, but that's not the phones fault.

Check your local fellows and find the best reception carrier for your TL's Bluetooth. What carrier is good in IL?
I have access to my Email accounts from both work, home, or any Internet connection so I have not been interested in using my phone. I looked in the T616 manual and it says you need to talk to the service provider about Email although the T616 has the capability.

I just picked up my TL last Thursday and I immediately went and bought my
bluetooth phone, a Sony Ericcson T616.
I am on sensory and technological overload right now, learning the car and the phone,
but they seem to work very well together. Also, I have AT&T Wireless.
FYI, IMO this is one of the best features of the car!

? about what 'tooth phones will work
I read on the Edmunds boards that the Sony P800 Bluetooth phone doesn't work because "it does not allow for hands-free operation". What question must one ask of the morons in the cell phone store to assure a particular Bluetooth phone will take full advantage of the TL?

"comprehensive " list of compatible phones
I came across a website that lists "all" the phones that work with the TL. The link is: Compatible Bluetooth Phones
The fully compatible phones listed there include:
Sony Ericsson T68i
Sony Ericsson T610
Sony Ericsson T630
Nokia N-Gage
Nokia 3650
Nokia 6230

1. When in the car and integrated with the HFL system, if I make a just pick up the phone directly to make a private phone call when I dial a number I do not hear the phone ringing. The only way I know the call is being placed is when the person on the other end actually picks up the phone call. This is frustrating since on occassion you may want to hang up a call after a few rings or whatever, but currently I do not know if the call is being placed since I don't hear the ring and know the call is currently being placed.
2. I am only able to receive a call via the HFL if my v600 is flipped open. With the phone closed and if someone calls me and I try to pick up the phone via the HFL once I hit the talk button the phone appears to connect and then immediately disconnect but I pick up my cell phone and open it the call is on the cell phone. This does not occur if I leave my cell phone open, if it is open and I receive a call via the HFL if I hit the talk button I am then able to hear the person via the HFL.
Has anyone else come across these issues, do these issues occur with other AT&T bluetooth enabled phones. Especially issue #1 above, because if they do not occur with other phones I will return my V600 and get another phone since I have 30 days. I'm beginning to get fed up with these issues. I'm really annoyed with the first issue I mentioned.
Thanks,
Bob

Here is a nice thread you might want to check out. Some of the board members have come together to address their V600 problems. As for any kind of firmware/flex upgrade. I am still looking for one myself as I will keep the board posted of anything I find.
Do any of the Bluetooth phones that work with the TL sync with Outlook and transfer (street) addreses as well as phone numbers to the phone? My ideal phone will be able to double as a PDA (for calendar appointments and contact information).
(I currently have a Motorola MPx200 which is a great phone/PDa combo, but has no Bluetooth; there are rumors an MPX220 -- which will include Bluetooth -- is coming out shortly, but I don't know if it will have the 'hands-free' profile and not just the 'headset' profile, as do some current Bluetooth phones)...

Of course there is the T637 which is the updated verison of the T616 but I have yet to test it out.
