I want to turn this light on without HIDs on...

i think its the "Fog light" but i'm not sure what they call it.

i want to be able to switch it on without having the entire headlight assembly turned on. (ie. parking light, HIDs, etc)

is there a way to do this? where can i get a wire diagram of the lighting system and/or the Helms service manual for TL?

Check out this thread found in the 3G Garage. I think it's what you're looking for.

i saw that, its not exactly what i'm looking for. i want the light to be on/off via OEM switch we have. i think i'll figure it out this weekend or maybe tomorrow. mainly, i'm gona trick the "fog light" that the headlight is on, so allows switchability.

If you want to use the OEM fog light switch, you're going to have to do some direct wiring of your own -- the only way to "fool" the system would be to rewrite the firmware in at least one of the control modules. The stock fog light switch just sets a software flag in the Combination Switch Control Unit which then transmits a network message over the B-CAN to the Relay Control Module under the hood which then throws the relay if the appropriate conditions are met (low-beam headlights ON).

See www.helminc.com for Service Manual and Electrical Troubleshooting Manual. They're worth every penny if you plan to do any work on your car.

yes, exactly. i just got to use a voltmeter and search manually for the triggers that tell the relays "headlight on".

i'll post up a DIY if i have time to figure it out.
