Guys so the iSimple they have at CC won't work with a 07 TL-S with Navi????? Please let me know so I can buy one. They had 2 left today. The box says it won't work with a TL but some people are saying it works with a 04 but I need to know if it'll work with an 07. Thanks

Question ISIM71 vs PXAMG

Will the ISIM71 work if I still have XM, or do I need to get the PXAMG? I did a search here and did some digging around on the ISIM71 but couldn't find a clear answer.

I too would like to know if anyone has the Peripheral Media Gateway (ISimple) WITH the HD tuner. If so, how well does the HD tuner work?
I have a 2005 TL w/Navi and my XM subscription will be expiring soon. I will not renew my subscription.
TIA

The HD Tuner (part# HDRT) replaces the FM radio in your car. You remove the antenna cable from the factory radio to the HD Tuner and all radio channels are played through your XM or Aux channel on the radio. The regular radio will no longer play stations, just hiss and static.

I've been thinking about this, and I think I don't like totally doing away with my regular radio stations. I'm looking into how it would work with an antenna splitter so I can feed a signal to both units.

Got the iSimple for $74.99 today at Circuit City. 50% off, last one. I only have a shuffle but if an iPod touch will play video through the Nav screen via Dom's unit, it will be worth it.

I have the HD unit for mine and bought an antenna wire "Y" splitter and plugged it into the HD unit and the factory radio. Works perfect, still have all original stations plus HD radio when I want it.

Awesome! That's exactly what I thought. One question though... Do you notice any degradation of the signal (ie: static, low reception) since you split the antenna?

No, the reception seems to be the same.

I live in a very rural area about 75 miles from the FM stations I listen too. Signal is still strong like before HD install.

It's a setting on your iPhone. It'll ask you when plugged into an audio/data device if you'd like to activate airplane mode. Click NO .

So you need to update the firmware for the ISIM71 in order to work for TL with navi?

it's not necessary, but you should make sure the unit is on firmware .36 or higher. there have been a few bugs that were corrected.

firmware upgrade is super easy. you just need a computer and a mini to standard usb cable. the same cable that blackberries come with.

also, let me remind you guys that uncald4 has a group buy for these units. i bought mine through him and have no regrets...

I'm not sure that people are buying the same thing here. Is everyone speaking of the PXAMG and the PGHHD1 setup? This would be the late model Honda/Acura specific kit. Or are people buying the universal import kit (the white box with dip switches and universal harness). Both are considered iSimple kits. The first one mentioned is the Media Gateway kit.

universal iSimple = single clear baggie with all parts for imports
Media Gateway = Black box with module + black/clear bag with Honda/Acura harness.

Just curious.

1. This thread is over a year old

2. Buying it from Best Buy includes the painstaking install free of charge, and if you sell they car they remove it free of charge. . . .
