Too bad those of us with Navigation aren't that lucky = /
ISIM71 is the only model Circuit city sells if I remember correctly. HD1 is the one we Navi users need.
EDIT: I just read your sig, it says you have a Navi. You more than likely picked up the wrong ISimple unit.

If you open the flap on the box it says underneath Acura that it isn't compatible with Acura TL's with Navigation units.

I bought a Peripheral iSimple ISIM71 from Circuit City last week. Installed it in my '06 TL with nav over the weekend. It works fine even though the box says its not compatible. It is the same as the PXAMG that is mentioned on here. Make sure you update to the latest firmware, which can be obtained from here: http://www.peripheralelectronics.com/firmware/index.asp
I used version .36.
You're fine haz39. It's a simple install. Search on here for instructions on how to remove the center console. There are plenty of threads on this.

I agree w/ datmrman, simple install and lots of threads with help here! I installed mine fairly quick, no special tools required other than a screwdriver. I found it much easier to take the center console apart and take off the the panel on the drivers side where your knee would be. Look for threads of installs of short shifters - you need to take apart the center console for that

^^^ I'd still recommend picking it up at CC if you can find it though, much cheaper than the GB.
And for the record: ISIM71 DOES, I repeat, DOES work with the 04-06 TL w/ Navi. I am running one on mine as we speak right now. So, go out there and grab that sucker, well worth the $100 bucks.

I'm no electronics geek but I can usually read a thread and figure out what the hell you are talking about.
The first post tells me nothing. So fill me (us) in.....
What is this part for?

It's for iPod integration with the OEM head unit. It will allow for steering wheel controls and it shows text on the screen. You can also browse and switch playlists from the radio controls. Much better than any aux port because you get true digital sound reproduction.
Circuit City in my area doesn't have it. I went there and they had several, but none for Acura/Honda. I asked one of the salesmen if they would be receiving it and they said they don't know. They also dont know if/when they will be getting another truck before they close.
C'mon guys. Let's get on this group buy. I'm already signed up. We just need 4 more people.

Hey guys does this display anything on the nav screen? Is it possible that is what the differences are.....I am interested in one also but am curious why they say it does not work with the nav? Anyone have the unit for nav owners?

Sorry Trew. I nabbed the last ISimple at the CC in CSprings. All there satellite radio stuff went 30% and I grabbed it about a week ago. $104. I just installed it on Tuesday and now I can't stop playing my Ipod in the car with all my songs. It works great with the steering wheel controls and does show on Navi- IPOD, artist name, artist song title.

This works in nav, I bought mine from circuit city also. There have been a ton of threads on this but for those who still don't know what it does this unit allows you to have an iPod that sits in your center console that plays through the factory stereo and lets you utilize all the factory radio controls and steering wheel controls to control the ipod. Not only that but it dispays the title of the song and the artist of the song right on the nav screen. The sound quality is awesome. Here is a pic of the display in my car:

I found one at circuit city, but I am going to check with a friend to see if he wants one too...If he does I'll get in on it with you.....
BTW the unit works well and was pretty easy to install without taking apart the interior. Just use a hanger to plug it back in...you can line it up easier with the flexibility of a hanger, then push it in with a long screwdriver etc....I used a small allen key clamped with needlenose vice grip to get it out.

Yeah I just read that in the other thread, but it looks like the guy who has the prototype (playa4real) has released the schematics so maybe someone with some electrical engineering knowledge can make this harness. Anyways I have an 04 so I am not to worried but this does suck for all the guys with the new cars you would think there would be a enough demand.
