i pod interface question

i need help from anyone who can please.
purchased an i pod interface from gromm . tried to install in my 2004 acura tl. do not have navigation. looks like the white plug they provide to connect interface plugs into the xm radio slot. i plugged it in and got nothing, do i need to purchase the y-connector they advertise, or will this just not work for my car.
it says to use the port for the external cd changer, but i dont think i have one.
any one with pics of the back of the radio??

Okay, I don't know anything about this particular unit that you have, but every one I am aware of goes through the xm radio slot on the back of the head unit. Getting back there (or seeing for that matter) is no easy task. My particular unit (the USA Spec) comes with the Y-Connector and it allows both the iPod unit and the XM to share the input. Regarding pictures, I don't know of any on the forum of the BACK of the head unit, but there are some pictures where you can see the input from an angle in various walk-thrus. Here's a link that may help: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/dreamcast-w-controllers-vmu-games-173870/

Best of luck with the install and figuring out the issue here.

thanks for you help- i did have it plugged into the xm radio slot, was able to gain access by removing left side center console cover, and the fact i have small hands.
i tried pushing the xm button & the mode button on radio and nothing.
maybe i got a bad unit. i have e-mailed mfg. sounds like i did have it plugged into the correct slot.

Try pressing the CD buttin twice. That should take you to the CD changer mode, which is what most of these devices use. You will need the Y connector is you want to continue using XM, assuming it works like every other device I have researched.

Hope this helps....
