....somehow someway so that I can record video tonight at Mid Ohio. It will be some auto-x and a lap or two around the track.

I've got an iPhone 4 and a nice newer pns Canon camera (does 1080 I believe).

I wouldn't even be opposed to mounting them both in different locations either. Front and rear, left, right, etc.

Any ideas? Rubber band the phone to the rear view mirror? Buy a small piece of lexan and run the phone on the front bumper? On the sidemirrors? Lol

Open to anything.

 

I wouldn't put the phone on the bumper, runs the risk of damaging the phone from debris, especially if something were to happen. -knock on wood- I hope nothing will. But, try looking for a dash mount from say, Best Buy? Try searching "iPhone car dash mount" or if you'd like to mount the Canon you could search for a mount for that.

 

Well this is like 6 hours away so a little late to find a product. Plus those probably won't be the right kind of mounts for what I am trying to do.

If I put the phone up front I'd put a piece of lexan over the front and some foam behind it...

Yes yes I know all about GoPro. Not worth the money for the little bit I want to use this for.

I'm sure a quick run to the store would turn up something? Redneck it and use double sided tape?

 

I think I'm going to try and rubber band it to either my rear view mirror or my passenger sun visor. I'll take pics.

 

Sun visor might be pretty bouncy. Try it out on your street or something.
