I finished my new audio set up. Let me know what you guys think

This is how i used to have it...

This was a great setup with the exeption of the fact that the radio was too low for my liking and the botom unusable screen was nothing more than an eye-sore. So i visioned this..

...now obviously that was photoshop'd but This fixed both of my problems. So now here it is installed...

So These pictures are shot with my camera phone, and one thing you cannot tell is that from the driver's and passenger's seat you can see the climate control display clearly. I think the only downfall is that it can be viewed by some as too much. What I absolutely love about this new radio is that it has Pandora Link. Sirius/XM G.T.F. Outta here. I have my iPod Touch tethered to my rooted phone and have that controlled by my HU. It also has BT built in, and room for Navi, but I've demo'd the navi and I still like my Garmin better. Give me your thoughts...all are welcomed.

executed well, not a big fan though. EQ looks dated and the flip out looks out of place to me in the car.

I like it. I like how it covers the stock radio screen but keeps the AC screen visible.

SpiderX...that was my entire goal of the situation. As for the digital EQ I wanted to go full din to fill in the bottom space. I had the older model pioneer in the past in my Integra so i went with what i was familiar with. The one i had was the DEQ 7600. Pioneer has since only come up with the DEQ 9200 which is this one. It has been around for a while, but it still competes well with todays EQ's. I can post a video of it in action but you're not gonna really hear the quality, just see the units in action. As for that album...you notice great music.

The dash kit he is using is either a modified dash kit for another kind of car or completely fabricated as there is no companies that make a direct replacement kit for the TL's.

Wasn't it a Pontiac of some sort that was close?

Ya,it was a Pontiac GTO kit I believe that had to be slightly modified to work with the TL. Then you still have to modify the side trim panels because of the radio knob notches. Can be done just takes some work.

Metra model# 95-3528 and Scosche model# GM1597B. Metra imo makes the best dash kits and would be better quality.

Yeah that piece is the way to go. Sanding with a dremmel is basic and will execute the job nicely. However, if you like any one of us Acura owners, you're gonna want to do some more modifying. That trip piece is only going to fill in the gaps between the radio and the bezzels. The problem with that is that the gap will have a dip, in other words the trip piece wont be flush with the radio and the bezzels. Mine was made using just ABS plastic alot of measuring, cutting, and sanding. To make it flush you're going to have to use fiberglass or bondo as a filler.

Steve, i'm uploading the video now and it should be up shortly.

I'm using Peripheral PESWIPS. this one only works for sony and pioneer. You will have to buy one that is compatible with the radio you are installing. Personally, I liked the stock response time. The peripheral is ok, but it has a quarter second lagg....that may not sound like much at all, but I had my TL with the stock radio for a few years and got used to that instant response. I don't know about PAC and if its better, but i would recommend peripheral for easy setup/install and configuration. As for use i'd rate it an 8/10.
