Would I be able to get a copy of that? How long was the cord from the head unit to the box? I'm trying to see if I can do the same set up w/ the Peripheral/iSimple.

USA SPEC PA15 ACUxl

I just installed this in my 07 TL Navi. Someone needs to emphasize there is big difference between an 04-06 TL and the 07-08 TL w/Navi/XM traffic. You DON'T have to take apart the dash on the 07-08 because the unit connects to the XM receiver in the trunk. The directions are horrible but I have figured it out after a call to USA SPEC.

It sounds great and give you access to all playlists, artists, albums, and songs via the steering wheel and radio controls. You get all the text of that information too on the screen. It uses the XM1 screen so the XM2 screen still runs the XM radio. It even works with an iPhone 3Gs.

I only have the iPod in the trunk so far as I am trying to figure out how to route the cable from the trunk to the center arm rest storage area. But the extensive control from the OEM unit doesn't mean I really need to access it. I use a iPod CLassic back there. I can still plug in my iPhone to the AUX jack up front to stream Pandora radio or anything else on the phone.

This latest unit is nice upgrade from the USA SPEC unit I installed in my 07 Accord Navi.
I can provide tips upon request or answer any questions if anyone is trying this install in their 07-08 TL w/ Navi.

Very good...thanks for the clarification on the difference from 04-06 to 07-08. Feel free to post up any pics of the trunk hook-up.

Guys. Do I bought the Dice module and it failed after a year. I called them and it's over the warranty period. Do you guys recommend the USA product? It's for my wife's car so I feel kinda bad that it doesn't work anymore.

My USA-Spec has been running strong since Feb. 2008 with only the one quirk I mentioned in my very first post. I think I might need to replace one cable at this point, but otherwise it's been solid.

I just installed a my USA Spec ACU LX in my 07 TL, and it works great! I have an iPhone 3G, and i get full control from the car, or direct mode from the iPhone. You can also play Pandora radio through direct mode. That was a nice little find.

The installation was a half-way pain in the ass. I placed the unit under the dash in the passenger side, so i had to run the cable from the trunk, under the door sidings, to the USA Spec unit. from there, i ran the ipod cable through the center console like DMoyes. took about an hour to complete. For this wiring, it came with the perfect amount of cable.

Now I have to find a way to play videos on my nav screen through my iPhone...

The unit is not the DVD Navi. It is behind the trunk covering, behind the Navi unit, and behind the metal brace mounted on the inside of the passenger fender. It's hard to reach, you have to unscrew about 3-4 screws and the unit will drop down. Only then can you access the plug needed to connect the iPod cord. It is still much easier than taking your dashboard apart.

This is my first official post here, I love this forum. I just installed my USAspec PA15-HON3 in my 04 w/ Navi. took me awhile, but I think it would've been next to impossible without this walkthrough. Great Job and Thanks for the info!

I should note, though, Im having the Navigation reboot problem that was mentioned in another post. Other than that the product is pretty dope, Im happy so far.

i installed the ACUXL and for me it took abt 35 mins to get to hooking it up and then it started to rain so i will have to hide the wires on the weekend. currently routed through the pass through in the back seat...

Best part of it is the sound quality, still have to get used to the controls...

Can you give details on how you routed your cable? Specifically how did you get from the trunk to the cabin?

Do it. It's awesome. It's not just for playing via the iPod. It plays all audio that goes through the device. If you have an iPhone, you can stream Pandora, AOL Radio, Last.fm, etc through it. PANDORA!! Awesome on long trips.

You guys convinced me to get one of these for my 07 TL NAV. I'm sick of the tape adapter! I waited this long because I don't want to rip apart my dash board. Where can I find the best price and reliable retailer that won't rip me off?

I'll try to do a pictured walk-through when I install mine.

Some questions:

- Was the USASpec module new or used that you installed?

- What is the condition of the cables?

- Everything secured tightly?

Hmmm, I'm afraid you've got me stumped. My only suggestion at this point (and it'll earn me a "Capt. Obvious" comment) is to contact their customer support. I've had decent experienced with them through e-mail and phone.

Yeah, I have no idea...its pretty hard to screw up this install so i'm pretty sure its a hardware problem, just not sure if its the iphone or the actual USAspec unit (or cable)

Presumably, you are able to get the iPhone to charge normally through an AC outlet or computer. If that's the case, then I'd think it was the USASpec unit. Recently, I had an issue where I replaced a cable on mine and shortly thereafter it stopped charging my 1G iPod Touch. I called USASpec, they had me send the unit in for service and it turned out that an internal fuse had popped; no idea why or how, but that's what happened. Anyway, I had it back pretty quick and it didn't cost me anything other than some postage.

I'm having some major problems with my USA Specs unit. I had it installed 2 months ago and its been Hell. First, I had to replace the circuit board on my navi unit, then I sent my disc reader in the trunk back to alpine for repair. Now its still doing the same thing. I can just be going down the road and all of a sudden my navagation resets itys self, like i just turned the car on or something. The screen looks just like i just cranked it. I've had 2 Acura TL's and never had any issues at with the navi units. No I have this thing put in and its been a nightmare. Any advice?

This is the first I've heard of a problem like this. Do you have an 07-08 which requires you to go through the trunk?

So, you're plugged in only to the back of the head unit with the Y-connector in the XM spot?
