alright guys, I'm not getting any help over in the TSX forum so let me get to the real source of info here w/ the TL owners. How can I unlock the HFL system? A friend recently bought a used 2008 TSX w/ Nav and when she got home and we tried to pair her phone, we realized that the HFL was locked...the nearest dealer is almost 2.5 hrs away ...how can we bypass, reset, unlock, etc w/ out driving all the way back to the dealer?

 

so, all of my online research indicates that this can only be done by the dealer w/ some type of honda diagnostic tool. well that just sucks. I can't believe there isnt a way to reset/unlock this dang locked HFL system

i think it will reset if you disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 15 minutes

One of the manuals, Driver's Setup Guide, has a phone number to call 6a-8p, M-F; 7a-6p, Sa; 8a-6p, Su (CST) at 888-528-7876. I can't speak on how they work, I don't have my car yet.

How would I know the HFL is locked?

 

Because you won't be able to pair your phone or use bluetooth.

 

I was having the same issues with mine and then one time it just liked right up, then a few days later it disconnected and I haven't felt like messing with it again! I may give this number a call and see what they have to say. Thanks for the info

 

I disconnected the battery... but it didnt reset the code... Any other tips without paying the dealer to do it?
