How to Replacing case on Key Remote

I'm sure others have had issues with their keyless remotes cracking considering the age of our cars. I wanted to see, can you buy an outer case and just move over the insides? I dont want to end up losing either my clicker or my keys because it is gradually breaking.

For anyone who has done this, how do you move over the internals into a new case?

Haven't done it in a while because I made myself a switchblade key, but it's pretty easy from having opened it and changed the innards of my driver 1 to my driver 2 case. Crack open the case near the keychain ring with your finger nail. eBay has a bunch of replacement cases for ~$20.

Also I made a mistake, it's opposite from the keychain that there's the little indentation, not near it.

Yea,

Mine cracked in that ring hole on the bottom right, but I need a front and back. Ive never opened it up to look at all the insides, but I wasnt sure how to move everything in and out into a new shell case. Thanks though, I'll look around on ebay

It's super easy, everything is just clipped together. Little PCB with a silicon membrane and clicking buttons. You'll see when you open it up.

It was a stupid amount of work because I used the "old" way.

Now mine isn't perfect and it's currently exhibiting the key slightly sticking out problem (been doing it for around a month). If I was to redo it, which will likely happen with my second key, I would use the second method.
