How to remove non-Navi LCD from Bezel
How to remove non-Navi LCD from Bezel
I have seen many nice installs on here, usually non-navi to car pc where members have installed a lilliput or other monitor where the radio and HVAC information LCD is. My question is does anyone have the info or pics on how to remove the non-navi LCD from the bezel? Also, most that have done this have talk about cutting and repainting.....why? What needs to be cut? Is it to accommodate a larger screen?
Thanks
Thanks
Ok, I may have found the answer to my question. It looks like in 2004 and 2005 the display was a solid LCD that you can remove with no problem. In 2006 it went to the plastic insert that you have to cut out and had a blue background for the actual display (yuck) and in 2007 it was different yet. I never realized all the differences.
Well you will have to cut it regardless i just did mine but i didnt paint it and relocated the lcd screen to the bottom were the pockets are underneath the radio it is a major pain in the butt but its doable if you take your time i didnt install a car pc just monitor and an ipod interface with aux all i do is watch videos and movies
