How often do you upgrade your Navi DVD?
I have an 08 with an 08 disk but I'm a realtor in an area with allot of new construction so some areas dont show up. Although, construction has slowed down for obvious reasons but I may get a disk in a year or so.
my idea was to do it every other year. but damn, the 4.81 disc is like 180 bucks. thats ridiculous. but san antonio has had soooo much construction so i know it may help but still... thats a lot of money for something that is clearly not worth 180 to design

I didn't replace it originally because it wasn't a high priority and I don't drive to unfamiliar places often, but I would probably change it every 2-3 years otherwise.
If you're in, or frequent, fast-developing areas with new roads and shops, it may be worth it to update every couple of years.
Welcome to AZ!
I have an 06 and live in Vegas where the streets are constantly changing. Growth is crazy out here and I need a new disc badly. Just dont want to shell out the 180 bucks. I was hoping someone had a link to the torrent or something......

Although I just got my 04, it has the V3.3 disc. I was going to get a new one, but they just opened a new interstate that was closed for two years in my city. The new disc won't have it as open, but the one from 2004 does.
My GPS must think my TL is a boat though because the other day I went across the Mississippi River, where according to it, there was no bridge!

i just changed mine last month got the latest one after 2 years, i think every 2 or 3 years is ok especially if you live in a developing area...also if you don't want to pay the $185 get last years edition on ebay for less!
thought I was in bad shape with a 05 current as 11/24/04
I really need to upgrade next year especially with with all these Azine outta state meets I have attended this year. Im tired of shitting breadcrumbs everywhere
'07 TL-S, just got the 2010 update as a Christmas present.
So far I've only noticed two changes: I now knows about the local Home Depot (which has been there for years) and there is no longer a male voice option. I use the female voice anyway, so no loss.

I have a 2004 TL. I upgraded the disc once a couple of years ago, either late in 2006 or in 2007, when the then-current upgrade was on sale for $149. I know it was after January 2006 because I drove up to Mont-Tremblant that month and that area was not yet within the system's coverage, but the update I bought does have that area.
I'm reluctant to upgrade the disc because there's so much road construction in my immediate area that any upgrades become outdated fairly quickly. (VDOT finished the massive Springfield Interchange project in 2007, but they're already at it again building new ramps there as part of the HOT lane project that will run through 2013; the Wilson Bridge project is also scheduled to take at least two more years). Of course the very legitimate rejoinder to that is that I don't need an updated disc to guide me through areas that are less than 10 miles from home, and that's certainly true. It's also true that no matter WHAT upgrade you buy, it's going to be out-of-date almost immediately because no POI database can ever be completely up-to-date. I guess I just kind of feel that if it's going to lay down a ton of breadcrumbs in the area around the road works projects regardless of which disc I have, I might as well save the $189 until the projects are complete so that I won't get the ton of breadcrumbs anymore. (When I bought the one upgrade I got, two new roads had opened in my neighborhood. They were included in the upgrade and had not been in the prior version. I use both all the time, so the upgrade spared me the hundreds of breadcrumbs I had previously had on my screen all the time.)
