Depends on the song--some just are more quiet then others, where I need it to be loud---some I want it pounding loud till my ears bleed, hahah.
I seem to get some static from my speakers though...

The TL's sound system is actually pretty loud for stock, imo.

how generous of you to roll with the windows down and the stereo cranking
Everyone has your taste in music!!! ...well at least some drivers will share your taste~

Be warned- in town- (check your local laws) IF your stereo can be HEARD by the Ofiicer at 50 Feet, you are disturbing the peace.

On a motorcycle with the speaker system hidden in solid saddle bags or on the handlebars, cranked up on the freeway, you can forget how loud it is as you ride enter town.....as some friends learned one night. And it was a bike cop that stopped them.

The MTX Jackhammer is loud but loud is when you can't even hear yourself talking or it is like a club in your car. Loud music also brings attention to your car, so if you have tint and loud music BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING!

01tl4tl's post has some relevance to this to this discussion. Since people are listening to their music 25+, he's giving people some warning.

I normally listen between 15 - 22, anything louder isn't necessary unless the windows are down at 60+ mph.

All my music is ipod input, which tends to be quieter then cd's. So the majority of the time it's maxed out. I am working on a full system upgrade. What does anyone suggest for component speakers? I am up in the air between mb quarts and jl audio.

Some days 10 or 15 is enough, if it is really late at night. Then other times during the day I feel like 30 is good. Definitely like it louder than quiet .

Wish the radio would stay on at a low setting while making calls with the hands free bluetooth
