The TL-S has an "Aux" connection in the storage compartment under the arm rest. However, this is really just a headphone jack. If you're looking for integration that allows you to use your head-unit and steering wheel controls, you'll need to go aftermarket.

Here are some resources:

Anything out there that doesn't need to be connected to the back of the head-unit? Not a big fan of messing around with interior electronics. And I don't really care about using steering wheel controls, I'm fine with just using the iPod itself.

I'd just suggest using the existing "Aux" hook-in then.

there's no splicing or running power to the battery... the whole install consists of plugging 1 connector into the back of the head unit then running the ipod/iphone cable to where ever you want it to be. Shouldn't take more then 15-20 minutes if you have ever touched a tool before in your life.

Quick question, I finally got mine hooked up and it was a PITA. Anyhow, I thought that it would display track/artist/album info, mine only says aux. Does yours display anything? Also, the packaging says you can also browse folders using the 6 button on the TL strereo, that didn't do anything for me.

when you first go from another mode like radio then hit the XM button you can use the right knob to choose the mode (aux 1, aux2, ipod, xm1, xm2) you only have a few seconds to choose what mode when you 1st hit the xm button.

when you go from am/fm then hit the XM button turn the "Tune" dial (right one) until it says "IPOD"

you only have like 2 or 3 seconds.... if you dont do it quick enough youll have to change modes (am/fm, CD,...ETC) then hit the xm buton again and turn the dial until it says "IPOD"

because most people don't realize you can get the same exact unit online for 1/4 to 1/3 the price. The 40 dollar one i posted is the same one that's 129.99 at best buy.

granted best buy does install it for free but its very easy to install yourself. Only a 15 minute job.

and no its not a nav thing. The same unit works on both navi and non-navi.

This just plugs into the earphone jack on your iPod on one end and into the aux jack - http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss...+cable+for+car

Haha... Well that's nice and easy now isn't it.

So basically, the only reason to buy the iSimple is to have the convenience of using steering wheel controls and having all the display features and what not? That is nice to have... but I don't mind just using the actual iPod to switch songs. Maybe down the line I'll get the iSimple.

Thanks for the help ttribe!

That and so you can keep most focus on the road instead of looking in your lap to change songs or whatever. Convenient controls and a big screen to see what your doing will help over a tiny ass little screen.

any disadvantages to the isim73?

so many threads on this topic that i am confused....

i want to be able to see the song title and artist on the nav screen, and full functionality of the steering wheel controls. has to charge my iphone 4 too. i also do not want to lose xm functions. it would be nice to control the songs from my iphone too, but i dont mind not having that, i will be controlling it with the radio most of the time.

George, according to a tech at Pac Audio, ISHD571 and ISIM73 are both identical. They just gave the unit a different name to be sold at Bestbuy. The ISIM73 is according to him working just like the PXAMG.

I just skimmed this thread so this may have been corrected here but if you have an 07 or 08 you will have to hook it up at the trunk and run the wires to into the vehicle. If there is a unit for the 07-08 that hooks up like the earlier models it will be the first time I've heard of it. Hooking it up in the trunk will take a lot more than 15 min especially if you've never taken the seats and trim out before. The 04-06 is hooked up behind the radio and can be done without removing any panels. Search for the thread with the directions. Also the harness are different for the two.

i have a USA SPEC PA15-HON2 that i removed from my 06 accord that i plan to now use on my new 07 TL-S i just bought over the weekend, i first bought the iSim73 and subsequently sold it because it was not fully compatible with my cheap Accord VP non-xm radio. Question is which one works better for the TL? The one the OP is considering (iSim73) or the USA SPEC PA15-HON2? Any pro's and con's features i would be missing? It isn't my intention to thread jack i just thought the OP might want to know about other options, as do i.

I guess I paid a lot for mine compared to isim73...
use iOS4 to display everything onto the nav.

Edit: It takes literally <5 minutes to install. Everything connects to the back XM and NAV boxes and if you don't have, just request the other harness which wires behind your radio. Video to show full functionality. Personally, I love it so far.

+1, I thought the USA spec was better, but it seems like the isim73 does everything? Charge, display track info, steering wheel controls? Does it allow music control via the iPhone too? It's easier to flick through on the ip4 :P.

mmmq,

That one looks really nice..until I saw the price. 3XX$ that's crazy expensive for a ipod integration setup.
