How do you remove the navigation unit?

Does anyone have step-by-step instructions for getting to and removing the navigation unit in the trunk? I'm trying to get to the connectors at the back of the unit, but I don't want to tear up any of the carpet/trim in the process.

Thanks
-TJ

www.helminc.com you can buy the service manual if you wish. If not, somebody here may have the manual for the TL and can post the directions.

Could someone please post a scan. I'm hoping to do it tonight or this weekend, since I have a bit of free time between classes.

Actually it's quite easy to remove the trunk carpet ....

Pop the black trim piece covering the lock assembly (four trim fasteners)
Unscrew all the buttons on the right side of the trunk (the things that hold the trunk net in place)
there is one trim piece that looks like an inner circle and outer circle, use a thin screw driver (or even a credit card) to pop the center out and that piece will release
Move your hand up behind the trunk hinge and pull out the trim (it's just an overlap piece)
Pull the whole trunk piece away from the side... it's really quite pliable but still stiff enough so you don't have to worry about ripping it.

If that doesn't work ... go with the BFH
