How do you change the head unit background color?

Sorry if this question has been asked already.....
I just picked up my car 2 weeks ago, and it didnt come with a manual, so pretty limited to the little DYIers.

Anyway, i've noticed that some people have blue lights on their headunits, while mine only has the boring white.

Is there a way to change them?

Also i'd like to change my interior light to the same LEDs that came with the car. Am i looking at a certain LED or just any LED of that spec would fit (what are the specs anyway?)

Thanks.

After 2007 I think they started backlighting the HU (non-navi) to blue... pre-'07 was not backlit and had blue-white text. You cannot change this, sorry.

You can change all interior bulbs to LED and you can choose from many different colors: www.superbrightleds.com

Just wanted to link you to an Owners Manual since you didn't get one.

What are you trying to change exactly? LED's? In the dash/console/button lights? Or are trying to change the screen background colors? Or the LED's in the domes, doors, etc?

What year TL and what trim (Type-S, Navi, 5AT or 6MT)?

Anyhow, here is another useful link that might help you find what you need:

Sorry i guess this was one of the first things i shouldve done before posting:
05 TL, AT non-navi 138KM, bone stock.

What i was saying is...my buddy has the same exact TL but a year newer, and his headunit/stereo system, has white text on a blue backlight, while mine has white text on just regular greyish/black back light.
So that was the reason i wanted to know how/if it could be changed.

Now as far as the LEDs, i was looking to replace the dome lights and door lights with blue LEDs.
So i was wondering what sizes i needed exactly.

Thanks.

Also just a random question: What gas mileage are you getting to the tank?

Can't help on the Head unit color, but I think peterUbers response may be relevant.

LED's, Start Here:

Mileage varies wildly depending on the type of driving. mmade22 does almost all highway and probably gets around 27 - 30 MPG; I drive almost all city and get ~18 MPG; my average speed is 23 mph (both MPG and MPH according to the MID).

On the highway, cruising, you should see ~ 30 - 32 MPG.

Most people seem to average in mixed driving 20 - 25 MPG. All City, say 16 - 20.

FWIW - your tank will give the "it's time to fill up" light/message when you actually have ~3 to 4 gallons remaining (which should be ~80 - 100 miles driving). There are several articles on this in the 3G garage which I linked you to earlier.

Yeah my navi has a blue background with white lettering. I have an 06. I can get to the menu to where it gives me the option to change the colors even if I select any other color besides blue, nothing happens. I don't get this either. Never really bothered me to make a post or look but I figured I post it up here since its relevant.
