How 2 get better HFL recognition?

I'm having real spotty luck w/HFL recognition. I keep my windows shut, speak up and speak towards the mics. It's wired, it almost seems to have to "warm up" (I know that's crazy). 3 times now I have tried to either call a number or enter a number and get absurd recogintion. I end up driving for another 15min and all is OK.

Please share w/me any tips for better HFL recognition.

Thanks!

15 mins? My car seems OK without this problem, but I did have issues with recoginition in the first month.

Talking to HFL while the car isn't moving is totally differnt to talking to it while you're driving. Practice is the only way to find the patterns of speaking to HFL.

HFL can't understand me

It's shame the phone numbers can't be entered on the nav system with a joystick to highlight the correct numbers. I may get my daughter to try. When it gives me a choice of store, dial transfer etc, it recognizes; however, when i start the series of # and say 254 it always comes out 250. I played with this mainly while driving with radio and ac off. Maybe I need to be sitting still.

Speak more quickly. I and my wife initially had a lot of problems with HFL recognition as we were speaking slowly. I now talk more quickly (about the same pace you would leave your number on someone's voice mail) and I rarely have problems now.

It's funny -- the faster you talk, the better. Mine works great now -- and I used to think it sucks. Also, when loading names in, try to make them distinct. I have better luck saying the whole number then saying "Dial Bob" (Also, use "dial" not "call" -- it's better). "Bob" for example, can sound like a ton of names.

I use nicknames and speak faster.........it does work well.
