Esteemed fellow members...

I was hoping some of the more cellular techno savvy people on this forum might be able to answer a question I have about the number of paired phones the TL
will recognize, if there are more than two paired phones in the same car at the same time.

I just purchased two (2) Motorola RAZR V3c (cmda) phones on the weekend, one for myself and the other for my partner. I have yet to pair the phones with the car, but was wondering if anyone else on the forum has any first hand experience with the TL's ability to handle having, as I mentioned earlier, two active and paired phones in the car at the same time.

Any information or insights would be greatly appreciated.

The HFL in the TL will support up to six individual phones. Although you can have only one active at a time. When you first pair them, you are asked to name them.

I believe once the phone is paired (and you have it set to auto connect in the future) that phone will stay paired until you use the voice command "next phone". That will tell the HFL system to disconnect the current phone and connect with the next paired phone in your list. It will repeat the name you gave the phone during the pairing process.

I have a few phones, including a RazrV3c, and have not had any issues. I do have them set to auto reconnect to avoid having to do it manually. I can switch between the phones without any problems.

Hope this helps...

Motorola RAZR V3c Verizon Pairing Instructions

IMPORTANT: You must press and release the HandsFreeLink talk button on the steering wheel and wait for the beep before you speak. This step is required before all spoken commands.

Power on the phone and ensure Bluetooth® is ON. Please refer to your phone's user guide for steps to turn on Bluetooth.

Press and release the Talk button on the steering wheel and wait for the "beep" before you speak. Repeat this step before all spoken commands.

Say "phone setup"

Say "pair"

Say any 4-digit PIN code for pairing. Remember it as you will need to enter it into your phone later. HandsFreeLink will now instruct you to begin the pairing process in the phone.

Press the MENU button on the phone

Choose SETTINGS and press SELECT

Scroll to CONNECTION and press SELECT

choose BLUETOOTH LINK and press SELECT

Scroll to HANDS-FREE and press SELECT

Scroll to LOOK FOR DEVICES and press SELECT.

HandsFreeLink should appear on the device list. Choose HandsFreeLink and press SELECT.

"BOND WITH HandsFreeLink"" will appear. Press YES.

Enter the 4 digit PIN from earlier step and press OK

When prompted, say the desired phone name

You should hear "pairing successful"

Repeat the same process for the next phone
------------

Now you can use the "Next Phone" to go to the next paired phone....Have fun.

Thank You!
I just got a new Razr V3 phone yesterday (upgraded from a Motorola V551). Just wanted to say thanks for your guys help! I knew I was doing the pairing right, but for some reason, she just wouldn't take my name! And so I came to this post and others, to find out just exactly what maybe I was doing wrong. Nothing! But from reading other post in regards to pairing, I found that others too had to at least try it, what seemed like 20 billion times, just to get it to accept it.

I'm so thankful that this site is around. Everyone always has such great tips!

You are all the best. Maybe that's why we all own TL's
