HFL unpairing?

My HFL is all kinds of fun. I have a samsung epic and the HFL keeps forgetting it. As is I pair it up no problem, talk on it for a few days to a few weeks and then I get in and the phone won't connect no matter what I do. If I go and re-pair the phone it works fine for awhile longer. (Well, it does occasionally drop the bluetooth connection as well.) I know the HFL is problematic in my '06 from searching, but I didn't see these specific symptoms. Does this sound like the dreaded bad capacitor problem to you?

I just took a look at the Acura HFL minisite-- the Samsung Epic (on the Sprint network, at least) is listed as "NOT compatible" with the HFL.
You can try updating the phone software, but the problem is not the TL's HFL.

If you read the details, it "failed" because it didn't transfer when you say transfer. Which does work on my phone BTW. I'm much more likely to put the blame on Acura's HFL implementation that a much newer device anyways. According to acura it performs all other basic call functions just fine.

Anyone else having this particular issue? If its just me I'll pursue the phone side more. If not, maybe I'll crack open the HFL.

I've seen several threads here with similar issues, which all seemed to be phone OS related; most were resolved with phone software updates.

HFL failure usually exhibits a locked-up mic with "booting up" in the MID, non-responsiveness or consistent failure of the mic or audio rather than an intermittent pairing problem that you're experiencing.

Hmmm. Okay. I have the latest release flash for my phone(ec05 froyo). I know there are some gingerbread ROMS with newer radios floating around. Maybe I'll give one of those a shot.

Happens to me, too

I have the same problem with my Epic and my 2011 TSX HFL. Very frustrating. Acura just pointed me to the website that says "Not Compatible." So really, is it HFL or Samsung?

Quite possibly both. I refuse to believe that Acura has a perfect bluetooth implementation. However there is very little we can do to change it. Might as well concentrate on the phone. You on XDA? Gingerbread leaks are up there.
