HFL pairing issue..HELP!

This could be a double post. I apologize in advance.

I have an '05 TL and i've been using Blackberry 8830 for a few years now without any issue. Starting this week, the phone doesnt sync with HFL in the afternoon. In the morning is fine but when i get off from work and start the car it doesnt sync. I cleared all HFL and re-sync the phone and I tried everything including unplugging car battery for a minute still doesnt work. I havent tried other phones though. Could this be an HFL module issue? Suggestion please. thanks.

I had the same problem where my BB wouldn't sync at times. The only thing that worked was doing a hard restart on my phone. Pull the battery out of the phone and restart it.

I just had the HFL replaced in my 06 TL. Had exactly the same symptoms as you have. Previously paired phone worked for 3 years. One day-HFL would not link up. Press the button-and it says "No phones found". Deleted phone and tried to pair again-no go. Finally, buttons on steering wheel-totally stopped working. Some members report HFL goes into "Booting UP" loop.

I tried the battery disconnect-and even removed the unit from the overhead. Let it sit out overnight-still did not work. Did notice when the unit failed-the area where HFL is mounted in the overhead-just to the left of the mirror-gets really hot (still quite warm when left overnight-car off/key out). To veryify that BT in the phone worked-I sucessfully test paired it with my BT equipped laptop and a BT headset.

Took it in to Acura and they were able to diagnose it pretty quickly. Dead HFL unit. Car was out of warranty-and it is really expensive to replace (MSRP $650+). I negotiated a substantial discount at the parts department-but even then it was still quite expensive. With a 100% hindsight-probably should have just skipped it. I have no idea whether the replacement is truly fixed or will crap out again in 2-4 years.

I get the impression Acura has a quality issue with the HFL (just look at the number of threads). This is way too many HFL problems.
