HFL never on. still a risk?

I bought my 2006 Tl from a fellow who was the first owner. He said he never used his bluetooth EVER. I accidentally hit my steering wheel buttons once in a while but have never connected my phone ever either. Am I and others who simply don't turn on the HFL function on at any risk? Or should we disconnect the HFL just in case? It is not a risk I am willing to take for no reward (don't use bluetooth)

Probably will take it out, maybe try to sell.... Considering I just tested it and it works without any issues. It is just an unnecessary feature for me but some people might need a new HFL. What a shame Acura made something standard with such a flaw. Bluetooth streaming would have made it worth the risk I think.
