HFL Issue using phonebook

Anyone experience an issue with the HFL when trying to place a call using a name from the imported phonebook? If I dictate a phone number it works perfectly but it does not recognize any names, comes back with 000 or #. For reference, I’m using a Blackberry Curve 2.

I think the names have to be entered thru the car. It does not recognize the names imported by voice. Kind of sucks. Mine hangs up when answering a call 50% of the time so I kind of think the whole thing is crappy.

Just got the BB Torch and have the same issue, actually worse my phone doesn't connect when making a call but if i call out from the phonebook that i uploaded in the nav works great. Oh i also receive call with no problems...is there an upgrade of software on HFL that acura could do?

I have an '04 TL w/o nav and will admit that I did have trouble setting up my phone book contacts by speaking (computer would not always recognize what I was saying), I have been able to successfully make calls using HFL. I also successfully receive calls and only have occasional dropped calls usually due to signal. I have only encountered 2 to 3 incidents where HFL did not pick up an incoming call. Overall, my only complaint is with speaking commands to to the system. I have used the 1st Gen BB Storm and now use the BB Curve 8530, both with service through Verizon.

Soon2b, you need to think of this actually as 2 different and separate things. First, the TL will store your cell phone's phone book. But you need to access it from the Nav Screen. But thru the HFL, you can make your own phonebook of frequently called number. I have in my HFL phonebook things like, "Call Home" and "Call Mom". But you have to enter those yourself. The car records your voice, so when you do want to call home, the car will confirm your request by replaying your recorded prompt.
