Question HFL—MID displays Roam indicator when not roaming?

The subject line explains the question. I got a new phone yesterday (Motorola Z6cx on Verizon Wireless) and paired it to the TL with no difficulties. Went to test it out on the way home and saw that the "RM" indicator was on in the MID, so I cancelled and didn't make the call. It shouldn't have been on "Roam," but we were having another big thunderstorm so I figured maybe there was some sort of interference. Got home (out of the storm) and checked it out in the driveway before pulling into the garage. Phone was not showing the "Roam" indicator but the MID was. Obviously it's what's on the phone that controls, not what's on the MID, and I don't drive to areas where I'd be roaming very often so I guess it's not a big deal, but it struck me as a potential irritant for when I DO travel.

Does anyone know what causes this, or whether there is a fix for it? This particular version of the Z6 family of phones is not yet listed on Acura's HFL site (only the Z6tv is, but that thing has a camera in it and I wanted a phone with no camera), so I suppose Acura would say "You have an incompatible phone."

I didn't even know our MID had a "roam" indicator, but my phones (Motorolas) don't display the power level either.

I get that on my Sprint from time-to-time. But, not only on the MID. It also happens sometimes on my wireless modem and occasionally on the phone itself.

Don't know the cause, but I just ignore it and eventually it (on the MID, the Modem or the phone) goes away.

The letters "RM" will appear below the signal strength indicator in the MID if it thinks the phone is on "Roam."
