Help with wiring on 07 TL-S!!!

Hey guys. This is my first post but I have followed the boards for a long time and have found a lot of good info. Here is my problem. I'm hooking up my system in the TL and have run into a problem. I'm running everything before the amp and am in the process of making my rcas off of the radio pre amp outs that are in the 20 pin black connector. Well I know there are wireing diagrams all over this site but the thing is they don't match a 07 Type-S. The two fronts do and the sub do but the center and both rears are completly different colors. Now I know I can put a speaker on the wires to figure out which is which but the problem is which is + and which is -???? I am stuck until I figure this out so I beg anyone who has the answer to this and a diagram for the 07 to please reply. Thanks

Hey bro,

I'm in the same boat with ya.

I got an 08 TL-S, and I'm just about to install a Rockford Fosgate 3 sixty2 signal processor. And I need all the same info as you.

I do know the amp is located behind the passenger kick panel, and that the tweeters are powered of of the deck.(not the amp)
I've posted a thread looking for a wiring scematic, but no one has answered as of yet.

I have a friend that knows a guy at an Acura dealer, and he's trying to score me the actual Factory Schematics! As soon as I get them, I'll send them to ya if ya want.
I would think the '07 and '08 TL-S's are the same.

Cheers!

I would suggest going to the alldata site and you should be able to get everything you need to know about your car as far as the engine down t to nuts and bolts. Here is the site and you will need to pay a fee for a year subscription or even a lifetime fee and it is very much worth it:

Nah...I'm not paying for that info.
They have this great new invention...they call it the 'Internet'!
A world where one can find absolutely anything. For free!

Especially in a network like this.
This is a community of die-hard Acura fanatics. And everyone in here has knowledge in their own respective areas.
The whole idea is for us to network, and help each other with whatever we can offer. For FREE!!!

We all pay with our blood, sweat, and tears as we build and tweak these fantastic machines, so the idea of paying someone for info that someone else here may have, is to me, ludacris!!!!

When I do acquire this info, I'll be sharing it with whoever may ask. For FREE!

So, don't get me wrong, if you want to join a 'pay' site...go ahead. It's probably a very good site. After all, you paid for it!!!

Cheers!!

Thanks for the link but I don't really wanna have to pay for just finding out 6 wire colors... I have no idea why they would of changed the color on those three channels on the Type-S, but they did. Every other wire color matches the older models.

This is the wire info I have found for the black 20 pin before the amp

RF+ Black
RF- Gray
LF+ Green
LF- Blue
C+ Brown --- not there
C- Green w/White --- not there
RR+ Orange --- not there
RR- Red --- not there
LR+ White --- not there
LR- Yellow --- not there
SW+ Red w/Blue
SW- White w/Green
Remote Turn-on -> Red w/Yellow
Amp Mute -> Yellow w/Green

My Center wires are yellow w/black and pink w/black
Left rear is green w/blue and yellow w/blue
Right rear is green w/yellow and blue w/yellow

I have no clue which is pos and which is neg?????????
If anyone has a close up picture of the 20 pin black harness
that would solve the problem. Then I could see what goes where and just match the slots they are in. Please somebody has to know this

Well, Just thought I would help the best way I could and maybe even have gotten your question answered quicker than waiting for a response. I understand that resourcing is great but not every post gets answered with the information you need if at all. $15 is really nothing compared to the price of your car or time spent waiting for an answer. Do not get me wrong, if I had that year Type-S and access to the diagram I would have sent it to you without fail. I know someone on here has access to the information from alldata and his name was turbo something. Hope that helps and you get your question answered soon enough. I am sure you could take a volt meter and measure the readings on your wires while changing stereo speaker settings to front, rear, left or right to get your answer. Sorry for not answering your question directly.

RBeachTL you are the man!! Thanx for that. Nasty_nos thanx for your answer too. I'm gonna look into that site anyways.

Now I have everything hooked up and all kinds of whining!! Figured that was coming from reading other post and yes I have the noise canceling mics unhooked. It's real bad... ugh...

If you're going to be doing a lot of electrical mods, I highly recommend you purchase the Electrical Trouble Shooting (ETS) manual from helminc.com. It's about $50, but well worth the money.

You can also buy a 3-day unlimited access online subscription for $10.

Either one of those routes would be much preferable than you coming on this forum with only 3 posts and scolding a forum member for providing information on how to obtain a legitimate source for this data.

Don't worry JustintimeNC, I'm pretty sure those comments were directed at me.

It's funny...the trouble with forums and/or emails is that its very difficult to convey the tone of the message. My intentions weren't to 'scold' anyone. I simply had an opinion on "pay" sites. Nothing personal.

I'm just an avid believer of these open forums. The active transfer of knowledge and information.
Yes, there is a time and place for pay sites, but, I'm pretty the question was asked on THIS forum because it's free.

This site rocks! And I apologize if my comments offended or 'scolded' anyone.

Cheers!
