Help! Water in my Navigation DVD Player !

I got the dvd player in the trunk wet. Navi screen went black. I immediately took it apart dried it out and put it back in.

Now it loads and shows the map but as soon as I move the car it goes to the diagnostics screen showing all the system controls like a/c etc...

Anyone know a fix to this?
What DVD Players are compatible with an 04 TL?
Can I get one at a scrap yard/ebay or from multiple years/cars (tsx, rl, honda etc...???)

how did you get it wet? If you didn't get it wet, it could be the drain behind it, it could be clogged or have a hole in it.

My guess is something shorted inside. You have a few options:
1. Buy a new one from Tim @ hondaacuraworld.com for about 2k
2. Look for a used one on ebay for around 600-800
3. go to a scrap yard and try to find a navi TL (04-06 TL ONLY) for 50-450
4. Send it in to alpine and for about 200 dollars they will fix everything wrong with it.

a 5 gallon bucket spilled on it. It's definitively wet.

WOW 2k just for the dvd player alone! Thats insane!

It's actually getting better. I took it apart again, re-dried it with a hair drier. dried all the connectors on the factory harness with a drier. Put it all back together and it worked, but my arrow(indicating where I'm at) turns in circles as if I was doing donuts even though I'm stationary.

After a few trips around the block it stabilized itself and seems to be working ok for the mean time.

Thanks for your help I hope I dodged a bullet with this one!

That would make a great youtube video. Glad it is working ok for you. Could have been MUCH worse.
