Help: Radio/Audio Reception ISSUES

Hey everyone
2005 acura TL
6spd,navi etc

I took the car into an autobody shop i trust to fix my seatbelt and airbag warning light issue. Got the car back and all was well. I had the audio set on my disc player.

Today i went to go check out the radio for traffic- and nothing.
AM does not work
FM does not work
Both have just a constant static noise
My presets were still there
Disc/tape/nvigation still work/there is no place that reads enter CODE

I decided to reenter the codes
I disconnected negative for about 20min and re entered the navigation and radio code to try and elimnate that possbility

Same issue- there is absolutely no reception on anything.
The radio has ALWAYS worked flawlessly- windows have been tinted for atleast 5 yrs so I doubt it has anything to do with that. I had radio/gpa/xm all working until i cancelled XM and this most recent radio problem.

Any ideas before i call and bicker at my mechanic? Anyway he couldve messed something up reseting the airbags(im assuming he had to take out the center console and put it back..so...) Some weird plug that i should check somewhere?

I really miss my radio

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

What exactly did they repair? If they did remove the radio chances are they forgot to plug in a connector or the antenna. It sounds to me they may have replaced your seat belt buckle.. but that is removal of the seat.

It's fairly easy to remove the radio

. At the end of the aluminum strips that run on each side of the consoles, you pray up with a butter knife and start removing them all the way to the radio.

Under those strips will be a few screws which hold the radio in place. (I believe 8)
Remove those screws and gently pull back on the radio. Must warn you now your radio and navi or non navi unit are connected together, be careful not to yank or hit anything. My other suggestion is you run to Acura and buy a few radio/climate control bulbs because there may be a chance as you remove your radio for one of these bulbs to fail.
