Help Please with oem rear speaker wires!!!
So my cousin and I were installing a new amp this weekend, and my retarded cousin hooked the wires coming from the headunit to the outputs of the aftermarket amp. Now I have no signal/ sound coming from the oem rear speaker wires. What should I do? I hooked everything back to normal, but I have no sound coming from the oem rear speakers. ( the speakers work, just no sound coming from them) Also the oem sub still works fine. What could be the problem? (The headunit still works, music comes from the front oem spaekers). Could it be that we fried the oem wires or could it be the oem amp? Please help!!! Suggestions would be appreiciated. Thank in advance!!

The head unit is somewhat isolated, and I'd be surprised if it went that far, but my guess would be that your factory amp is toasted...

Thanx everybody. Always appreciate everybody's input.
I'll get a dmm & see if I still have a signal coming from the headunit. (hopefully I do).
Would I still be able to solder in some RCA cables to the headunit wires and plug them into the aftermarket amp to produce some sound?

If you search for wiring diagram, you can see what color wires are what on the connector for the amps. There are two connectors that go into the amp - one from the head unit with power and stuff; the other goes to the speaker wires. Unplug the one coming from the radio (the one towards the front of the car) and test each channel. If you have signal, then the amp channels are dead.
You could also a junk yard or eBay for a used factory amp if you determine that the amp is bad.
Unless you plan to use the 5.1 surround aspect of our radios, you can just take the left/right off of the front channels and use those on an amp for both the fronts and rears. This would work for stereo.
Most people use the signal after the amp when they hook up an aftermarket amp.
