Question Help with Parallel wiring!

Hey guys,

I recently replaced my 2 front speakers with Polk Audio db651 series and was stupid enough not to consider the Independence of these speakers. Our amp is good for 2 ohms and speakers are 2 ohms as well. Polks are 4 ohms each and they are NOT loud at all! Amp is not sending much power to them and the sound is cut in HALF! really bad sound (stocks are much better)
My question is..."Is there any way I could do parallel wiring of these two speakers so that I can drop the Ohms in half? (4 ohms to 2 ohms ) Has anyone ever done it with stock amp? if yes, explanation and pics would help a lot!
Also if there is no way of doing parallel wiring, is there any other alternatives? I just want good sound out of these speaker (some good mid bass and good highs as well)

Any feedback is REALLY appreciated!
Thanks,

VertigoHTM

Return the polks back and get Infinity reference.
I was going to buy the polks but was afraid to lose half the power because of the OHMS.Any way this Infinity speakers sound really good with the stock amp. just a little louder than stock speakers but a lot clear and for $69.00 bucks how can you miss!

your options are to:
Return them
Get different speakers
Amp them properly

I suggest the latter, amp them properly and they will serve you well.

Thanks for feedback Hgroton and csmeance, but the thing is that I bought them from Ebay and they came with those Installation rings....(well I kind of messed up with them to make them fit in the door - broke off plastic housings) so I dont really think that I can return them now. But here is the thing that I'm thinking to do - someone told me that Rear Speakers are 4 ohms....and also 6.5"..... I will try one speaker tomorrow and let you guys know the difference. Hope it sounds better. ( but as for infinity.....I might get them ) btw can you tell me specific model...you see I'm really looking for some good quality bass response and clearness.

Well I'll try replacing rear 4 ohm with this Polk speaker. and Hgroton, Polks are really good btw. They are very clear and I just can feel the bass that they could put on.! sucks that I cannot do anything about it! lol

NEVER MIND! the rear speakers are also 2ohms! what a disappointment!
well I will probably buy some good 2 ohms speakers later.

---Any suggestions on good 2ohms front speakers that would give good bass and clearness?

Thanks,

The speakers model are (Reference 6022i) and got them from crutchfield. Make sure to ask for the adaptors. I didn't and then had to pay and wait for them.
I was thinking on amping this speakers but for now I'm happy with the way they sound.
I'm running a 10'' JL audio with a small amp for the bass and the rest is stock. May be I'm not going to wake up anybody with the way my car sounds but who cares. to me is all about detail clear sound and keeping my hearing.
Hope this helps.

Hgroton, thanks for the reference #

Btw I was thinkig about putting some sub in my Tl but the thing is very complicated! I read LOTS of threads here about replacing stock sub and amps and it takes lots and lots of money and it is time consuming. Could u be more specific about JL sub.? how did u wire it up with aftermarket amp to HU?

Well, to be honest with you I didn't do the wiring for the sub & amp on this car,as you know the TL is not an easy car to work with.Instead I went the local installer and got it done for $ 160.00 bucks.
The amp is 13 years old and still works.the sub is a 10" JL Audio in a ported box.
The only thing I did is dynamat the doors when I changed the speakers, and everything sounds good so far.
Not loud but better and may be in the near future I may wire the front speakers to the amp.
Hope this helps.
