Help pairing LG VX8550

Hi All,

Just picked up the new Chocolate phone from Verizon, the VX8550. As far as I can tell, the upgrades from the older version are a step in the right direction, although it still has the standard, stale GUI and not all the bluetooth functionality is there....

Anyway, I tried paring it with my '05 TL - When I got to the 'naming the phone' portion, the HFL would drop the link. Went through this a few times and it still dropped the link in the same place. So I decided to start over.... Cleared the HFL in the phone history and started fresh, but now when I get to the actual pairing process (phone in discovery mode, HFL looking for devices), the phone doesn't see the HFL?!?!

As far as I can tell, this phone is supposed to be compatible with our cars according to the Verizon Wireless site:

http://support.vzw.com/pdf/BT_Car_Kit_LG_8550.pdf

I double-checked my steps in the manual and even the quick start guide for the TL, and I was following the right steps, so I'm stumped.

I think I ran into a similar situation with my RAZR V3c, but I don't remember what I did differently to get it to work.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it!!!

Just for your reference, here is an older thread on the Chocolate: LG Chocolate - MERGED. I am guessing that your model is newer?

Have you checked the compatibly/tried the instructions off of Acura's handsfreelink website?
