Help with Navi

I've had my new TL for 3 weeks now and can't seem to solve something with the navi, when I key in a location (I tried SAMS CLUB) it said the nearest Sam's Club was almost 2000 miles away. Not sure what I did to the nav system or what I need to do to correct to find the closest location to San Antonio and not somewhere else 2000 miles away.

Thanks

lol...i have that same problem but its with all the navis im pretty sure. unless you have typed in exactly the way the business is spelled then it will find the closest one with that name on it. the best way to search for like a sams club is to go to category and find it through that. I would have to say Acura should definitely fix this problem because its annoying

It's usually better to try "Places"/"Categories"/"Shopping"/"Place Name" rather than "Places"/"Names" if you are looking for a particular store (same applies to restaurants, etc.).

Also be aware that the people who prepared the database also entered typos- check out "Starbucks" and "Starbuck's" sometime for some amusement- so you may want to "List" before finishing the name entry. Try Sams' Club too!

the system is made and disc updated by Alpine Electronics- acura has nothing to do with it.
The data is old too- even when updated
In case you dont have the nav or regular handbook, here is the free electronic version
click your year then model of car---- click the blue page numers to go to that section'

Thanks everyone - I feel like a dummy, someone needs to publish a navi for dummies book. I can now get to my local Sam's Club without going through Springfield Illinois.

Make sure you dont ask it to route you with the least Toll Roads!

There is a nav handbook that comes with the car- seperate from the main owner book
